Also found one roach when we got there in a bedroom but that was it for insects and we stayed there 4 nites. I know they do this for protection with little kids and drowning risk but I wish the button was closer to the door opening instead of having to go way over to the side and push curtain over (first world problems lol). Cons: alarm goes off when you step out the sliding glass door and u need to press a button. Also had mini put out in the back as well :-) The water park was sweet! Cool slides and a fun section for my 5 yr old. Our particular pool had a small water slide Was told only 2 of the 800 or so houses had this so props to Jamie (phone rep) who upgraded us :-). I understand they give this option likely b/c people are often gone the whole day to Disney and aren’t as interested in pool time. Didn’t like how we had to pay the extra $60 to heat them both but well worth it. Each bedroom had an attached bathroom The best part was the pool and hot tub. The theatre room was more like a loft room, was expecting more of a separate room with a couple of couches and or recliners but we still enjoyed a movie nite with the 4 lounge chairs. 8 TV’s! One in each bedroom so our 12 and 10 yr olds each were able to wake up and watch their Star Wars shows on Disney plus □. It had a ninja turtles arcade game, a PS4, BBall shooting game, fooseball table and even a karaoke set. We have 4 kids and upgraded to the 6 bedroom elite house. Not sure if I will stay at the resort again? It run down from usage, smells like pets, and it is not as advertised. But if they attempt to stick you in this property beware. Overall, the property has potential to be nice. I had to open a 2nd work order to have someone look at the TV and I missed them because when they came, they rang and doorbell that was broken and did not know they were even there?! I called back the next day and advised no one came they sent someone back a luckily, I was outside we both realized the doorbell no longer worked and they had to fix both issues. I attempted to turn on the TV, it did not come on and when I sat in the middle theater chair, I could feel the metal rod in my back from usage. On the last day of our stay, they were able to fix the pool but offered no refund for any missed days?! 2) The theater room is a joke. We returned from a trip to the park and saw the pool had stopped heating again and we had to contact them again only to get a response that the maintenance crew was working on emergency items and would be there the next day. ![]() The tech was able to get the pool to heat for a day as long as we didn't use the hot tub. 1) the pool I contacted property management about the issues and was told the pool heater was broken with a hammer or something and not heating property and would have to be repaired. Feb 3rd - 7th and booked what was supposed to be an "elite" 6-bedroom home and what we received was a dated property with a broken pool heater, broken doorbell, dirty carpets, and ripped/broken theater and living room furniture, inconsistent internet due to what I was told property upgrades. I have frequently stayed at Encore Reunion and this time I was highly disappointed with my stay.

By the time you fight one of these for the 10th time, it becomes more tedious to wait and hit it, which is true for other enemy types as well. For example, the large enemies carrying bathtubs require three hits to take down, but they only take damage after missing an attack on you. ![]() Unfortunately, as time goes on, this becomes a tedious task, especially with enemies where you have to wait for an opening. There are a number of different types of Jelly Monsters, and each one has a specific way to beat it. Where the linear design falls flat is in the game's secrets and optional objectives.Īs for combat, you use your new abilities to fight off Cosmic Jelly monsters. ![]() It's a nice break from the more linear platforming sections and these sections never overstayed their welcome. These sections usually have an arena-like area, where you can choose which direction to start in for your collecting, but always end up at the same destination. Levels require you to platform through them, eventually needing to find a number of objects to move further. Doling out a new ability in most levels means there is always a new mechanic to keep the game fresh, and it provides a way to hide secrets in each level for you to come back to. You gain abilities like a glide, a karate kick, a ground pound, and even a grappling hook. These movement abilities make SpongeBob feel fast when they are all working together and the sections that ask you to use them all together feel incredibly satisfying. SpongeBob comes equipped with a double-jump out of the gate but is quickly given far more movement abilities throughout the game, making for fluid platforming. But beyond this small amount of freedom, this focus on a more linear setup allows for the platforming to shine, since there is a single defined path that can be purposefully designed around the movement skills that have been unlocked so far. The levels have a bit of width to them, allowing you to explore off the beaten path to find extra Cosmic Jelly, which you are tasked with collecting throughout the game. In most levels, SpongeBob and Patrick are frequently commenting on the level, spouting off jokes that mostly land, but here, it's an hour to 90 minutes of caveman speak, which really kills the game's momentum.Īs for the design of the levels, The Cosmic Shake takes a far more linear approach than Battle for Bikini Bottom and this mostly works in its favor. What works as a small section of a half-hour cartoon overstays its welcome here. In the past, language hasn't been invented yet, so everyone speaks in gibberish. This pulls directly from the episode SB-129/Karate Choppers in Season 1, where Squidward ends up time-traveling to both the past and future. That exception is the caveman level, where Spongebob and Patrick are sent back to the prehistoric era to try and save Squidward. Most of these references feel well-placed and don't overstay their welcome, with one major exception. There are a few nods to the more modern seasons of the show, specifically Plankton's pet Spot, who serves as a collectible in each level, but the majority of its jokes and callbacks are old-school. While the show is still airing, many of the references made through the game are from the seasons I watched as a child and easily could have appeared in Battle for Bikini Bottom 20 years ago. A movie-set-themed episode combines SpongBob's obsession with karate with an action movie, and a pirate level has an enemy ship constantly firing pie bombs at you.Īs for where The Cosmic Shake pulls most of its inspiration from, it stems almost exclusively from the older seasons of SpongeBob. The aesthetic design of these levels is one of the places The Cosmic Shake shines, pulling together references to iconic episodes of the show, while adding new elements that fit within the game's story. This opening sets up the seven levels players will explore throughout the game, each one with a different theme and environment. ![]() Now Playing: SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake | Meet the Bikini Bottomites Trailer By clicking 'enter', you agree to GameSpot's ![]() Marketing executives focus on customer interests to improve revenue by partnering with influencers. ![]() I know Ziller Ink is acrylic and pretty popular in the community so maybe I’ll give it another try and will find that maybe I just used bad acrylic ink, but in my experience, it gave me thick hairlines, was a pain to clean off my nibs and pooled in my underturns. I have tried a few acrylic brands and just decided I didn’t like them. But they are also usually pretty thick and in my experience don’t flow too well. AcrylicĪcrylic inks are pigment that use acrylic emulsions as binder. They tend to be more lightfast, but thus thicker and as said before, result in thicker hairlines. There are pretty few pigmented inks that work for fountain pens, most of them are Calligraphy Inks. They will usually say pigmented ink somewhere on the bottle. So why do we need this as a separate type? There are certain inks that do not certify as any of the above because they use different binding materials for the pigments and have other components added. Acrylic, India, Sumi and Watercolor all contain pigments and are those “pigmented” inks. This basically just means that the ink contains color that is not fully dissolved, in other words it does have little pieces inside that are solid. ![]() This is basically a general Category that is one of those annoyingly unspecific words. I think there are waterproof dyes but most commonly those inks aren’t either of those two. That means that dye based inks aren’t the best for Calligraphy if you want to use them with cheap paper or care about lightfastness and permanence. One of the disadvantages of dye based inks is that they are usually thinner than other inks and because they don’t really have any “pieces” in them, they tend to imbue the paper a bit more, that means if you don’t have a good coating on your paper, you’ll get some pretty heavy bleeding. Dyes are colors that fully dissolve in the liquid, they tend to be pretty cheap and rather vibrant, however due to their nature they tend to be less lightfast than other types of inks. Fountain Pen inks are dye based inks, at least most of them. Okay, this is the reason why the word Fountain Pen is even in that little paragraph up there. Different types of Inkīefore I jump into this I want to talk about the different types of inks that we generally know and use in the Calligraphy and Fountain Pen world and give you a quick rundown of the characteristics of each of the types. I do not like them because they tend to be really hard to work with for me, or result in much thicker hairlines, tend to pool in turning points and are overall not enjoyable to use for me. The inks I do never recommend to anyone are acrylic inks and shellac based inks, since I’ve had bad experiences with those. If you’ve read any of my content on inks and/or talked to me about it you’ll know that I do have a pretty strong opinion on certain types of ink, which I’ve basically completely given up on, I own some but I will not use them if I can avoid them. And I think it’s generally very interesting. I personally eat meat and am thus not a vegan, but since I know a bunch of people in this lettering community are, this might be helpful to you. When I shared some information about this on Instagram a while ago I was contacted by a few vegans who were a bit surprised but also really thankful because they hadn’t realized that those paints were not animal-product-free. But first we’ll dive a bit into different types of inks you can get nowadays and learn all about the differences. So let’s talk about my Top 5 (alright, it’s 6…) Black inks. But black and me in Calligraphy didn’t have the easiest of starts, because I tried a lot of inks I didn’t like. So to say that me and black ink go way back is a bit of an understatement, since it’s basically been with me for most of my life, since I was around 8 years old. Me and black ink were a pretty big thing and if you look at old notebooks of mine, before all of my dark reds and burgundies and turquoise they are pretty much exclusively written in black. That was before Social Media and before I learned about this wonderfully amazing thing we call Online Shopping so all I knew was a very limited palette of ink, notably Royal Blue (urgh), Dark Green (not allowed in School), Red (loved it, also prohibited), Pink (my top favorite, but also not okay in school) and black (OMG, it’s allowed to use, it’s not freaking royal blue and it’s kinda awesome!). Back in my school days I got/had to use fountain pens every day and I’m gonna be honest, I just never liked the default royal blue. Me and black ink have a pretty strong bond and somewhat of a long history. ![]() Moreover, your clothes in the dryer may have residue left of by it which can be much annoying.
